Highly Trained, Tenured Staff

Jessica Hicks, NP

Nurse Practitioner

Jessica graduated with honors from Samuel Merritt University in 2013 with a Master of Science in Nursing. She is a nationally board certified Family Nurse Practitioner through American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Prior to addiction medicine Jessica worked in Hospice care. Her role was to meet clients and their families in their homes, wherever that may be, and assess for continuation of care.  Witnessing and supporting clients and families through the transition of death was a profound and life-changing experience for her. She felt her work in hospice was a privilege and a gift and has learned some life perspective she may never have had otherwise. During that time, she also volunteered as medical staff for Camp Erin, a camp for children who have lost family members.

Jessica brings that same compassionate care to addiction medicine. Jessica focuses on creating a safe and welcoming environment for new clients. She understands that this can be an overwhelming experience and utilizes strong intuitive and empathetic skills to meet the clients where they are. Her goal is compassionate care for clients when they feel most vulnerable and anxious. Jessica is passionate about cultivating self awareness, substance and trauma recovery, and empowering patients to move forward. As part of the collaborative medical team she supports clients when they first arrive so they can have a safe and efficient detox.

Jessica is a mother to two beautiful children. She is a wife and an active member in her community. She has led two community events for postpartum mental health awareness in Marin County. She volunteers teaching art to children. She has organized large scale fundraisers for her children’s elementary school for the past 3 years, pulling on her production background. Jessica worked in animation and visual effects production in the San Francisco Bay Area prior to nursing. She utilizes her skillsets in organization, team management, and creative execution to this day.
