In 2003, James began his career in the field of recovery at the Orenda Center in Santa Rosa. His dedication and expertise quickly led him to a position at Azure Acres in Sebastopol, initially serving as a counselor before advancing to the role of Clinical Supervisor, which he held until 2018. Transitioning to Serenity Knolls as the Clinical Supervisor, in that same year, James played a pivotal role in revitalizing both staff dynamics and documentation practices to align with the evolving landscape of addiction treatment.
James has a profound understanding of addiction, stemming from his own struggles with substance use disorder. By the age of 40, he recognized the destructive nature of addiction, yet found himself unable to overcome it independently. Through the support of fellow individuals grappling with similar challenges, he embarked on his journey to recovery in 1996. This pivotal experience not only facilitated his personal growth but also ignited a passion within him to assist others in their battle against addiction.
